What Are Puppy Deposits?

Once the decision has been made to get a Shiba Inu puppy a $400 security deposit is required to hold a specific puppy or to get on the waiting list for a future puppy. Please understand, once we accept your deposit, you are guaranteed to get a dog; other customers are told that the puppy is sold. For this reason, these deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE for any reason! The picking process is only based on the date you've placed the deposit.

Once the puppy has reached 8 weeks of age or older NO REFUNDS will be given for any reason! All puppies must be paid in full by the time that the puppies are 8 weeks of age; no exception unless specific permission has been given to the customer by ShibaPup.com. Puppies that are not paid for in full may be resold by without notice.

We typically accept deposits via credit card. We have a credit card terminal present and can accept both credit and debit cards. If there is a chance that you might change your mind and not follow through with the financial transaction, please do not send a deposit. We have ran into issues in the past with payments with personal checks and have decided not to accept this method of payment from now on.

If returning a dog after 4 months of age, no refunds will be given. However negotiation with ShibaPup.com is acceptable.

If a cancellation of a puppy they a customer has chosen at 6 weeks of age or older is placed, the deposit will be forfeited by the customer and a 20% cancellation fee will apply.

Deposit fee increased from $200 to $400 on January 8th, 2014.
Airline shipping increased from $290 to $315 on April 6th, 2016.
All Standard Shiba prices increased from $1000 to $1200 on June 6th 2016. Mini shibas are still $1500. Desposits received before June 6th, 2016 are still locked in at the $1000 price.

On April 1st, 2017 shipping was changed from $315/$355 for American Airlines and Delta Airlines respectively to $340 for both. We use Delta Airlines 80% of the time since US Air merged with American Airlines.
